Our Story

At Mountain Mover Candle Co., our mission is inspired by the words of Matthew 17:20:
"If you have faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing will be impossible for you."

Our story began with our son, Marshall, who was born with Down syndrome. As he entered his teenage years and high school, we found ourselves thinking more seriously about his future. What would his opportunities look like after graduation? The hard truth is, for adults with special needs, the path forward is often limited.

For years, we dreamed with friends, fellow parents walking similar journeys, about one day winning the lottery and creating a business where individuals with disabilities could work, thrive, and be celebrated for their unique talents. That dream lived in our hearts until we felt God nudging us to stop waiting.

He let us see that we had already won the lottery with a loving family, a strong support system, and a faith that tells us even the smallest act of belief can move mountains.

So we stepped out. We started Mountain Mover Candle Co. not just to make beautiful, purpose-filled candles and soaps, but to help create meaningful work for individuals with special needs beginning with Marshall, and expanding outward from our home into our community.

Each product is lovingly handcrafted, often by those whose talents shine brightest when given the chance. With every candle lit or soap lathered, you're not just enjoying something beautiful, you're part of a movement to uplift, include, and empower individuals with disabilities.
